This means that you can quickly and safely change or pass on most data yourself via MijnLoyalis, such as:

• Viewing your documents such as policies and policy conditions 
• Changing or supplementing your data such as your (email) address or account number
• Issuing or revoking authorisation for pension fund
• Communicating illness and recovery

You will receive confirmation of the change you have passed on to us. At the moment it is very busy and processing is taking longer than usual. The quickest way to report a change is via MijnLoyalis. MijnLoyalis. You will then also see your change there.

Have you informed us that you wish to terminate your insurance? We will then process your request as quickly as possible. When terminating your insurance, we take into account the applicable notice period of 1 month.

AOV is a disability insurance. This insurance supplements the income of incapacitated employees up to at least 70% until the state pension age at very favourable rates. This insurance fits in seamlessly with what has already been arranged for you by the government (WIA), in your collective bargaining agreement and through your pension scheme. This way, you never pay too much, but you can always count on a good income.

You benefit from a tax advantage with our disability insurance. Two possible situations are involved here:

1.Does your employer deduct your contribution from your gross salary?
Then you will immediately benefit from a tax advantage. You will not receive an annual statement from us. This is not necessary, as you do not have to deduct the contribution from your income tax yourself (afterwards).

2.Do you pay the contribution yourself via your bank account (via direct debit)?
Then you can deduct the contribution (afterwards) from your annual income tax under ‘Expenses for income provisions’. You will receive an annual statement from us with the contribution paid*.

With our AOV you can choose from various types of cover. On the homepage you can look up your employer. On the employer page you can see which types of cover are available and calculate the corresponding contribution. 

It is not possible to convert an existing policy with a special provision into a policy without a special provision. To be able to apply for the AOV without any health questions, you may not have taken out active AOV with us during the past 6 months. If you terminate your current insurance and reapply within 6 months, the special provisions will continue to apply to you. In the case of a new application more than 6 months later, a new medical process will follow with the possibility of additional exclusions (in addition to the special provisions that already apply). 

Anyone who works for an employer, becomes ill and is at least 35% unfit for work after two years of illness, is indeed entitled to WIA benefits. WIA stands for Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act. If you become partially unfit for work and, according to the standards of the UWV benefits agency, you receive little or no salary, your income will drop drastically. In time, you may be left with a (family) income below the social assistance benefit level. With Loyalis disability insurance, you receive a supplement of up to at least 70% of your insured income. And if you are also insured for full incapacity for work, then, in the case of 80% or more incapacity for work, you will receive a supplement of 10% of your insured income on top of the WIA benefits and/or disability pension.

Only if you take out the insurance via a semi-group contract from your employer, or if you take out the insurance yourself individually. With a group insurance through your employer, you do not have to pay distribution costs. An insurer or insurance provider must be transparent about its costs and services. For example, costs for advice and distribution may no longer be included in the contribution, but must be charged separately. At Loyalis, no advisory service is involved; we only charge costs for contracting the insurance. After you have taken out the insurance and received your insurance policy, we will charge a one-off amount of € 40 for this.

Perhaps your employer has taken out group disability insurance for you. Check with your employer first. Is this not the case? Then contact our customer service. What if you are in doubt as to whether you already have (individual) disability insurance with Loyalis? In this case, too, please contact the customer service. If you have taken out an individual insurance, still register for the semi-group insurance through your employer, because this is more advantageous for you due to the group discount. (Your individual policy will be automatically terminated) You will also see this on your payslip.

You can insure yourself with Loyalis if you:

• are employed on a permanent or temporary basis and also if
• you have had a Wajong status or (currently) fall under the Participation Act and are entitled to WIA benefits
• ive abroad, but claim a WIA benefit

If you are already receiving WIA benefits, you can only insure yourself for an increase of the incapacity for work on the basis of a cause other than the illness(es)/condition(s) which are currently making you unfit for work.

You cannot be insured with us if you are:

• An on-call worker (with a zero-hours or ‘min/max’ contract).
• An alderman or mayor. In this case you do not fall under social insurance legislation. Therefore, the WIA does not apply to you. And without WIA benefits, you cannot claim benefits based on our disability insurance.
• • A self-employed person. As a self-employed worker without employees (ZZP-er) you can insure yourself via de Amersfoortse.

As an employee, you can apply for our disability insurance up to a certain age. For both the cover for partial (35-80%) and full disability (80-100%), this age is: 3 years prior to your state pension age.

If you take out the insurance through your employer, you will benefit from a group discount (at least 20%) and a tax advantage. The amount of the contribution depends on the level of your salary. With an average income, you pay about 10 euros per month. You can calculate your exact monthly contribution online based on your own salary. You do this by selecting your employer on loyalis.nl.

The contribution is paid either via deduction from your salary or via your own bank account. We calculate this contribution in accordance with to the rules of the tax authorities.

Does your employer collect the contribution via your gross salary (direct tax benefit)?
In that case, working conditions such as an end-of-year bonus or company car have already been taken into account. You pay a net monthly amount and thus enjoy an immediate tax advantage. You cannot subsequently deduct the contribution again (afterwards) from your income tax return.

Does Loyalis collect the contribution through your bank account?
This does not yet take into account working conditions, because we do not know them. You pay a gross monthly amount and can deduct the contribution from your income tax afterwards.

Your employer does indeed deduct the contribution from your gross salary. But Loyalis will deduct one-off distribution costs of € 40 from your account.

Our insurance is aligned with the state pension age. You no longer have to pay contributions 2 years prior to your state pension age. This applies to cover for both partial (35-80%) and full (80-100%) incapacity for work. Of course, you will still be optimally insured. 

Existing incapacity for work is excluded from the insurance. You can insure yourself for increased incapacity for work on the basis of another cause, but the illness (cause) that is currently causing your incapacity for work is excluded from cover. In the case of partial incapacity for work, you can therefore insure yourself, but only for an increase of the incapacity for work due to another cause.

This is your annual income on 1 January of the year before you are dismissed because of incapacity for work. Suppose you are dismissed in 2021. Your insured income is then your salary as at January 2020.

If you are ill at home for at least 6 months, you can report this to Loyalis.

Partners can insure themselves individually with Loyalis, provided they are in salaried employment. Go to loyalis.nl/aov-algemeen.

You can do this by calculating your contribution first. You do this by selecting your employer on loyalis.nl. If you continue by applying for the insurance, please have your salary and IBAN account number at the ready.

If you have been ill for more than 6 months, please let us know in time. If you are ill for a shorter period of time, you do not have to inform us (yet).

It is best to report illness or recovery via MijnLoyalis or use the form at loyalis.nl/ziekmelding.

When you have been ill for more than 2 years. Then you will be reinstated or dismissed on the grounds of partial or full incapacity for work. You may still receive WIA benefits or a disability pension, but your income will drop drastically and will often be insufficient.
With Loyalis disability insurance, you receive a supplement of up to at least 70% of your insured income. And if you are also insured for full incapacity for work, then, in the case of 80% or more incapacity for work, you will receive a supplement of 10% of your insured income on top of the WIA or disability pension.
