You are committed to helping others develop their full potential. Because you are passionate about education. Each and every day. But what if one day you find yourself (partially) unable to work? Due to a serious physical ailment or stress, for example. A prolonged period of absence from work can have a severe impact. Including on your income. Fortunately, your employer has arranged disability insurance cover for all its employees with Loyalis. This ensures your income is optimally supplemented should you be unable to work again. Enabling you to safeguard your standard of living now and in the future.
The Hague University of Applied Sciences extends per 1-7-2016 the contract with Loyalis. All employees remain insured.
The animation below is Dutch spoken.
Your employer believes it is important that all its employees have this insurance cover and has therefore decided to pay the entire premium on your behalf. That means you are insured free of charge through Haagse Hogeschool, in case of partial as well as full disability.
Your employer has opted to protect your income in all cases: partial as well as full disability. Safeguarding an adequate income for you at all times.
If you are less than 35% incapacitated, you are not entitled to a WIA benefit. You remain employed by your employer, in principle, although possibly under a modified contract. If this results in you earning less, Loyalis will supplement your loss of income to 80% for a period of 10 years. This is conditional on you earning at least 65% of your old income yourself.
Let’s say you used to earn €1,000, and now, under a modified contract, you only earn €650. Loyalis will supplement your lower wage for a period of 10 years. This supplement is: €1,000 minus €650 = €350 x 80% = €280. Your total income is then: €930 (93% of your original wage).

As an employee of The Hague University of Applied Sciences you are assured of acceptance, regardless of your medical history.
If you are unable to work - at the moment you start your new job at The Hague University of Applied Sciences - due to illness, you can be readmitted to the insurance after 4 weeks of full recovery. Illness as a result of which you are currently on leave and that in a worst case scenario leads to disability is not insured. In that case you will not receive payment.
If you have previously signed a waiver but would now like to take out this insurance cover, this is possible, subject to us asking you a set of medical questions
There is no need for you to apply individually. Your employer takes care of everything.
